I’ll go first…
- Home Alone. I love Elf and Die Hard is up there but I enjoy watching Home Alone every Christmas the most.
- Love it. I make a Christmas mix every year. I don’t love every Christmas song. I also don’t love that artists don’t make more original Christmas music. But I do enjoy listening to Christmas music starting the day after Thanksgiving…not sooner.
- I don’t ever remember believing in him. I do remember that when I was in third grade my dad mysteriously forgot something in the house while we were all in the car on our way to a Christmas pageant on Christmas Eve. When we got back to the house my dad said, “I think I hear reindeer on the roof.” I was on to him then. I didn’t fall for those shenanigans.
- Going to see a movie with my family. Watching the Lakers play on Christmas day is a close second.
- I’d rather do neither but that’s not how you play the game. If I had to choke down one I’m going with the eggnog. But I’m not happy about it.
1. It’s a Wonderful Life. The Santa Clause is a close second.

3. I am an old man (59). How in the name of Santa Claus am I supposed to remember back that far? I would say probably around my teen years. LOL
4. watching Wonderful Life and SC on Thanksgiving Day. Eating my wife’s awesome sausage gravy and biscuits for Christmas morning breakfast.
5. Fruit cake if I can put butter and peanut butter on it. Egg nog if you won’t allow that.
Bill, have you seen all of Santa Clause movies? I still haven’t seen the third one.
Saw the 3rd one. i wasn’t excited about it at all. The first two are classics. Rent it/borrow it before you buy it.

Danielle, have you heard Coldplay’s Christmas song? Monica can’t get enough of the Bieber’s Christmas stuff. I say Monica to cover my butt and not give anyone ammunition to make fun of me.

3. I stopped believing at 9, but didn’t admit it until 12 (was afraid if he was real, he wouldn’t come to my house).
4. Tradition that have carried over since I was a kid = reading Luke 2 at bedtime on Christmas Eve and baking sugar cookies. Traditions since I have become a father = making fresh squeezed orange juice to have on Christmas morning and luminaries in our neighborhood on Christmas Eve. Tradition that starts this year (today) = letting the boys open an early gift on the day school lets out.
5. Both are pretty nasty, but I’d have to go with the eggnog.

When I was 9 and saw my parents carrying a TV into the living room in the middle of the night to put under the tree, and then woke up the next morning to see the same TV wrapped up with a “Love, Santa” tag on it

Christmas morning breakfast.. This is the first year I’ll get to experience it with my husband in our own home 🙂

Jim, I bought some fruitcake today as a joke. I don’t know man..it’s pretty evil.
1 – White Christmas with good old Bing – Love musicals and Christmas ones are even better!
2- Love Christmas music – definitely helps me get in the Christmas spirit.
3- I don’t ever remember believing in Santa Claus – my dad had a bad experience when he found out the truth and didn’t want us to go through the same thing. Definitely enjoying rediscovering the magic with my step-daughter though!
4- We didn’t really have any Christmas traditions growing up except having 2 Christmases (one with one set of relatives and one with the other) but I’m really enjoying making new ones with my new husband this year. Putting up the Christmas lights outside and decorating our tree are some of the highlights so far! Christmas Eve at WEC is also something I look forward to all year!
5- I think I would have to go with the egg nog but yuck…couldn’t we just eat Santa’s cookies instead?

4. Decorating the tree with the kids – it’s a tradition in our house to put my wife’s old retainer on the tree somewhere – don’t know how it got mixed up in the Christmas stuff years ago, but it’s turned into a tradition for me and the kids – my wife just gives us “the look” each year.
5. As dense as fruit cake is, it would probably be easier to choke that down. Although I do like to make my own low-cal, non-alcoholic eggnog.

Scott, we need to change your none Christmas movie watching. Do you not watch many movies period, or just Christmas?
Not a big movie fan in general. I like the “idea” of movies, just to A.D.D. to sit through them. Even when I’m practicing guitar I have the music going and a football or basketball game on. You have to give movies undivided attention to really get the point or the story. I still have to many ants in my pants at this age!
1) Elf, Die Hard, Home Alone, White Christmas (in no particular order)
2) I like modern interpretations of Christmas music – Mannheim Steamroller, Transsiberean Orchestra, also have an album of carols done by Twisted Sister that rocks!
3) Never believed in Santa – wasn’t an idea my parents pushed.
4) Making gingerbread houses & cookies using my Grandma’s gingerbread recipe. Christmas Eve with WEC. The presents of the presence of family.
5) Eggnog with a splash of rum and a sprinkling of nutmeg on top.
Randal, I used to make gingerbread houses with my dad. I need to look into doing this with my kids. It was always fun.
1. Christmas Vacation followed closely by Elf and Home Alone.
2. Love it, for the most part. Lots of artists I skip over.
3. Don’t remember, but probably after I got The Ultimate Warrior action figure instead of Hulk Hogan. I mean why bring me the Warrior when I really wanted The Hulkster….come on Santa.

Joe, You had me with Hulk Hogan. I was a huge fan as a kid. Never did like that they let the Warrior beat him and then never let them rematch.
1) “Muppet Christmas Carol.” It’s musical and funny–can’t go wrong with that. As a kid, I also remember watching “A Very Brady Christmas” on TV every year–where the Brady Bunch all come home for Christmas with their families. I’d want to watch that, too.
2) Love it…if it’s done right. Loathe the fact that some stations play it 24/7. I think 3 of the radio stations on my car presets started playing non-stop Christmas music right after Thanksgiving. Unless I’m picking the Christmas music, I still want to hear regular stuff, people… I like how Air1 does it, where they gradually increase the Christmas music the closer it gets to Christmas, and then it’s all Christmas music on Christmas day.
3) I don’t remember. As a kid, I remember my mom signing gifts “from Santa,” but there came a day when we got a spending limit and went shopping for our own gifts. Kind of hard to believe in Santa when you saw the receipt for your own gifts.
4) Eating. Actually, that’s my favorite anytime tradition.
5) I don’t think I’ve ever tasted fruitcake or eggnog…but a gallon sounds harder to down than a pound, so I’ll go with the fruitcake.

Tradition in our house, the Saturday before Christmas we go ice-skating, then come home and put the tree up and all watch a Christmas dvd together. That signals the start of Christmas.
Have never had eggnog and never intend to. Love fruit cake so that’s a no-brainer.

Dustin, I love that there are so many different traditions represented. You, Arny, and Moe should all get together for Christmas. You’d have tamales and eggnog with rum.
1) My favorite Christmas movie would have to be Home Alone 2 because the kid is a genius, the pain is funny, the message rings true, and it has more story than the 1st and 3rd.
2) I love Christmas music. I think my favorite might be “All I want for Christmas is you” sung by Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber. I’ve discovered that the only aspect of Justin that I don’t like is “his” songs such as “Baby” and “Teach me how to Douggie”, but that’s due to needles repetition.
3) I still believe in Santa despite the fact that I’m fourteen. The only thing is that due to my (what some would call confusing/insane/ridiculous/etc.) method of thinking I see him everywhere, having a sort of influence on humanity.
4) I go with some of the classic traditions: gingerbread houses, presents, decorating the tree, etc. The new one that I’ve adopted is Christmas with Water’s Edge.
5) I see that you’ve posed a clever trick-question. I’ll take the fruitcake because if I had to “eat” Egg Nog, then it most likely has gone bad. I’m on to you Rob with your clever wording.

1. A Christmas Story. Long before they showed it for 24 hours straight my brother and I would always watch it together. We are 7 years apart, so when I was 8 years old it was cool that my teenage brother hung out with me.
2. I hate that most of it is the same old boring ones. But I like when artist create new ones. Mostly I don’t want to hear it. My fave CDs are Michael W Smith’s ‘Christmas’ and ‘Christmas Time’ and Mercy Me’s ‘The Christmas Sessions’
3. I will admit I was late on this one, maybe 12 or 13.

Geoff, I love A Christmas Story. My family watched it a bunch growing up. My wife on the other hand hates it. I don’t know why she does, but there is not changing her mind. I’ve tried.

Music? I listen to every kind, every singer. I love it all. O Holy Night is my fav, but I cry all the way through it no matter how many times I hear it!
Santa? Guess I was around 11 or 12
Tradition? We don’t really have anything we do every year. We just roll with what ever is happening
Egg nog or fruit cake? A teaspoon of egg nog would make me yak but I think I could make my way through some fruit cake if I had to.
By the way, I just had the most awesome experience. I was at Sweet Frog (if you have never gone, you really need to!) with my son. Two young ladies (maybe 17 /18 years old) came in and sat beside us. They immediately started talking about God and how awesome it was to be saved. I think one had just gotten saved by the way she was talking. She said she has a hard time getting started with bible study and doesn’t know where to start. So, I had been carrying the WEC Christmas service ticket in my purse since Thanksgiving and I just decided to give it to them. I have never done anything like that so was a little nervous how they would react. They were both so sweet and started asking me about WEC. They had heard about it from friends. I told the blonde that I had heard her talking about bible study and thought that a community group would be very benefical for her. They seemed interested and thanked me for inviting them. I may never see them again, but I hope they come this weekend. Made me feel all warm and gooey inside!!

Movie? Hmm…that’s a tough one. Charlie Brown Christmas special (kinda counts, right?), oh… and Polar Express.
Music? Love Christmas music but definitely not before Thanksgiving. And I’m pretty sick of the songs that just talk about weather…I prefer the ones about Jesus. I do however enjoy the Charlie Brown Christmas CD (from the show, obviously. Yes, there’s a theme here.)
Santa? Don’t really remember, but I know I believed at one point and then I didn’t. Probably somewhere around age 8 or 9. But I’m seriously considering telling the truth to my future children.
Tradition? My family follows a tradition of making and eating pasties (hand-held veggie & meat pies that miners in my grandpa’s home town used to bring for lunch) for Christmas Eve dinner. We’ve done it ever since I can remember and though they aren’t fancy, they are special to me because of the tradition.
Egg Nog or Fruitcake? Egg nog for sure. Not a huge fan of fruitcake.
Merritt, we are considering the same thing. I just don’t want to lie to them. I feel like a scrooge but I want them to know that when we talk about things we aren’t lying.

First of all marry christmas to all of you .I want to told that my christmas watching movie is Don-2,and song is Colaveri and also favorite dress is red hat and red t-shirt.
1. I’m with you Rob. Home Alone all the way! Whenever I hear its featured Christmas songs on the radio, I always think to myself “this is from Home Alone” over any other thought.
2. Love it. But only in the month of December. Not a huge fan of it on Thanksgiving or the day after Thanksgiving or any other day in November.
