Does Jesus make a difference in this world?
If you’ve ever been through a church business meeting then you might wonder if Jesus really does make a difference. Have you ever been around a group of people who claim to be Christians but they are more hateful, rude, and selfish then someone who doesn’t claim to be a Christian?
Jesus loves us no matter what we do, but Jesus doesn’t make a difference unless we do something. Do you agree or disagree?
I think that we get out of a relationship with God what we put into it. It’s the same with people. If you want a great relationship with your spouse, or your friends then you have to put good things into that relationship. You can’t just expect things to be good. It takes work.
Now I believe that God loves you the same whether or not you do anything, but to truly experience God in this world you have to do something. If you want little from Jesus then give little to Jesus. If you want all of Jesus then you have to give all of yourself.
I basically agree with your points, however, I do know that God will use anyone at any time to further his Kingdom. This can happen whether the person is a believer or not, whether a “good” Christian or a “bad” Christian. But, you are quite right that the more we put into a relationship with God, the more we will get out of it. Now, getting back to Brian’s earlier comment. I think that we must work to change the system if we are going to reach the kids that we need to reach. This is why I love the notions of WeeWorld, KidKraze, and student community groups.
I believe that you can influence nonbelievers more by your actions than by what you can say — anyone can spout Bible verses — even nonbelievers. I believe that you influence your children more by your actions, also. So, it stands to reason that your actions speak louder than words. Trite, but true. No one will see Jesus in you if you can’t behave like you should.

the last paragraph says it best. so many people expect God to work, or they complain when feeling vulnerable/attacked by sinful temptations and whatnot…. and yet don’t do anything to counteract Satan’s ploys to pull us down. it doesn’t make sense… but yet so many of us are guilty of it
