A Fun Look Back

Yesterday’s post was serious. Today I’m feeling like I need to lighten the mood.

My friend, JJ, went down memory lane and posted, on Facebook, a bunch of old videos I was a part of. A lot of people who have only known me for the past four years have never seen or known about some of my past adventures.

I thought it’d be fun to share some of the silly videos here on the blog.

The point of the videos was to have fun. You might think they are cheesy, or it may not be your style, and that’s okay.

I am reminded about a brilliant quote I recently heard Pastor Grant from Liberty Baptist say,

“Christians should have more fun going to Heaven than lost people have going to hell.” – Pastor Grant

That quote made me laugh out loud.

So if you are okay with being silly you should check out the following.

When I was in 7th grade I wanted to be a rap artist. God had other plans. Back in the day I had a chance to pretend to be a rap artist. I’ll tell you one thing the vocalist, Phil Poteat, can flat out sang! He helped make me look way better than I would have ever been on my own.

6 years ago the church I worked at was doing a series entitled, “5 Easy Steps To Wreck Your Life.” I was out sick from work. I was laying in bed when I got a conference call. They asked if I could muster the strength to come make the video. It is hard to tell in this video, but I was sick as a dog and it was really cold out. This video still gets a lot of positive comments from people who saw it. It is just four guys trying to make people laugh.

Back in 2008 the guys on staff at the church I worked at went way, way, way, out of our comfort zones. I don’t remember what series we were in. I think it may have been a series with an 80’s theme. We actually took choreography lessons for this one.

Two years ago I got my wife to participate in a video. This was a lot of fun.

I hope those videos helped you have a little fun today.

My name is Pastor, W Lawson, even as an a evangelist, people will find fault with your ministry, they set there on Sunday trying to catch a word that you may use and try to destroy the minister with it, saying that is not in the bible.
I have pastored for the past eighteen years, and one thing I do is never go on visitation, or counciling without my wife. I have to pray on a daily bases to keep my sanity at times. Pastoring a church is one of the toughest jobs that I ever have incountered, I tell people who want to pastor, you better, be tough as a rhino, and sharp as a tack in the word of God. Pray for the pastors throughout the land.
