A lot of people aren’t living a very good story. The question is why?
On the one hand it’s because we are all cursed with a self destructive nature. We’ve all done things and continue to do things that aren’t good for us.
Case in point…
Now those jokers are amazing tasting but they aren’t good for you. I know that and yet if I see that “Hot Now” sign on I’m going to be like a bug to a bug zapper and get me some.
This self destructive nature has blinded us to the story we are really living. We think we are living…
When in all actuality it’s more like…
But even though we all have this self destructive nature there are still those that seem to over come it to live a good story.
Now a good story is not perfect. Perfection in fact would make a bad story. In fact it’s stories that are filled with overcoming drama, defeating a menacing conflict, and risk taking adventure that we remember for years to come.
I believe that God wants us to live a good story.
I also believe that the church i.e. Christians play a HUGE part in that story.
I can’t help but wonder if the reason that so many people are living a poor story is because the church isn’t offering a better one?
When you think about not living for God most likely you think of fun.
When you think about living for God most likely you think of boring.
That shouldn’t be.
I think the Christian faith is to be taken serious but I think that we should also be a model for how to truly live in this world. Not in a cheesy copy of what people are doing in the world, but in a redefining authentic way. A way that leads to deep relationships, adventure, passion, and Jesus.
Living for Jesus is amazing! Christians should be having more fun, more adventure, and more tales of overcoming drama than anyone.
Our story should be so compelling it draws other people in.
You ever notice how a crowd attracts a crowd?
People want to be in on the excitement. They want to be in on the story.
I want my life to be a reflection of the greatest story ever told, Jesus. How about you?
Who do you know that lives a good story? What do you think holds you back from living a great story?
